the diet is 100 grams of chicken, organic grass fed beef, white fish a large handful of cucumbers,or lettuce,or radishes, or onions, or cabbage, or asparagus, or chard, or celery. 1 piece of melba toast. a small apple or 1 small grapefruit or a handful of strawberries. You are not allowed to mix the veggis. you can eat your fruit as a snack or with your meal.  not the same at both meals.
THANKS FOR THE SWEET TIP. I HAVE BEEN ONLY EATING 2APPLES AND A FEW BERRIES AND ALOT OF SUGARFREE  MINTS AND GUM TO SATISFY MY SWEET TOOTH. I DONT EAT ANY MELBATOASTS. DO YOU THINK THE MINTS ARE CAUSING THIS ALSO? SHOULD I STOP THE FRUIT FOR A COUPLE DAYS?THANKS
I am on day 6 of the vlcd and I am very hungry as well.  My doctor made it sound as though you are only allowed your 100 oz of meat, 2 cups of veggies, one apple, and one melba toast and should eat all at once.  Can I break these up?  Can I add more than 2 cups of veggies?  I am getting light headed!  I need something to kick in or I fear I will cheat!

In Kevin Trudeau's book on pg 94 it says "Do mix vegetables in the same meal" I have mixed 2 veggies in the same meal and I am still losing weight.  Huh  Grin

One pointer is that you want to make sure that you are eating AT LEAST 500 calories per day while on the HCG diet. Sometime HCG dieters will have trouble eating even 500 calories after a while and will actually not lose as much weight as those who make themselves eat the full 500 calories (similar to the effect of eating 6 regular meals throughout the day to maintain a healthy metabolism).

In addition, some people need a bit more than 500 calories to remain satiated. There is nothing magic about the 500 calorie number. If you are truly feeling unbearably hungry you might try adding another few ounces of meat. Hope this helps.

Hi, I'm new, just lived through day two on the 500 calories. I've been sooooo good. But guess what! I'm soooooo hungry. I really only have about 15 lbs I want to lose, don't know if people with less weight to lose get hungrier or something but seriously, I really hope it gets better. Paxatax

Hello from London, everyone. I just joined the forum. First posting, woo!

I'm on my first round, p2. Day 10 today and I am finding that I am physically hungry all day long, even though I am eating a little over 500 calories each day. I drink over 2 litres of water a day but that doesn't seem to help.

I've also noticed that while most of my cravings have gone away, the smell of bread and the intense craving for chocolate makes me feel faint when I can't have them. It's odd because I've never been a bread or chocolate person before now, but my cravings are very specific all of a sudden, heh. And it seems that nothing- not apples, tea, more meat or anything seems to make me feel less hungry or get rid of those specific cravings. On top of it, I seem to be very light headed most days. If I stand up too quickly, my legs shake and my vision goes black. It's like my body hasn't quite figured out how to deal with the lack of calories or something...

Any ideas? I've heard that lowering your dose can help sometimes.

I'm feeling so weak today it's hard to imagine doing this for the next 13 days, and then p3 as well (I'm only doing the short run this time).

Some HCG patients use 5-HTP to curb carbohydrate and sugar cravings (very useful even when not on HCG). Also, you should be a decent serving of protein for breakfast (at least 15 g) which will improve satiety throughout the day and can help boost your metabolism.

Hope this helps!!

Some of us are very sensitive to variations in our blood sugar.  Foods that are relatively high on the Glycemic Index, like apples, oranges, and melba toast or breadsticks, can cause hunger when the sugar rush wears off.  Try getting rid of those for a few days, but make sure you're still getting 20+ carbs per day from low-GI sources.

Apples are not high on the Glycymic index

To be hungry is not good way to loose your weight. If you want to loose your weight you can take the help of HCG.

I am not at all hungry on the program...read Dr. Simeons protocol/manuscript and he shows you ways to decipher what you are doing/eating that make you hungry. I am taking the HCG drops under my tongue....on round 2, day 8, and am down 38 pounds total. Not bad at all!....I think you who are hungry are eating something or a seasoning or the sugarless gum/mints and that might increase the hunger.

your hunger should never be more than a glass of water cant take away.  Many people have issues with homeopathic not working and most likely because it does not contain the hcg it claims to contain.  I hate to be controversial but, I am very passionate about this diet after losing 110 pounds and seeing many people try the homeo and give up claiming hcg does not work.  If you are doing homeo just give it the simple $1 store pregnancy test and put one drop in the window if it comes out pregnant than you are one of the lucky 1 in 1 million they claim to have hcg in their hcg drops.
